Annual Report - Humanitarian Coalition

I worked at the Humanitarian Coalition for five years as a web and graphic designer. Since leaving, I’ve continued to collaborate with them. My design deliverables are: images for social media and email campaigns, ads for the Globe & Mail, as well as various reports including their annual report among other things.

This year, I designed the annual report using Affinity Publisher for the first time. I still use the Adobe Suite at work, but for my own personal business, I switched to Affinity. Affinity has similar products to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. Recently they made a huge announcement, not only combining the three software in one but more importantly, making it available for free. Affinity was bought by Canva last year.

I created the maps using QGIS, an open-source GIS (Geographic Information Systems) system.
